This fine Sirjan tribal rug is handwoven using soumak technique.
The master weaver has created a finely woven raised pattern from soft lamb’s wool to create a symmetrical panel design using different colours squares.
Sirjan rugs are hand-knotted by a sub-branch of the Afshar tribe from south-central Iran who live near the city of Kerman.
